Good news for Baguio weather lovers, and to local and foreign tourists
Baguio hotels are offering 30 to 50 percent discount on room rates with free breakfast. This city up in the mountains is made more enchanting with the mist the rainy season brings.
According to Department of Tourism - Cordillera(DOT-CAR) regional director Pura Molintas, the rainy season is often the lean months for tourism in Baguio and in the Cordilleras because of the daily afternoon rains.
But not many people know that this is the best time for honeymooners and for people who need to rest and to unwind to come up to Baguio, she claimed.
The grass and trees are greener and fresher because of the rain. Travelers can experience the cool and fresher environment in the region, and this is also the time for cloud catching, she added.
To entice more visitors at this time of the year, hotels are offering discounts, and Molintas invites travelers to take advantage of the promo.
Heiner Maulbecker, Camp John Hay(CJH) general manager said, John Hay offers “Irresistible Baguio” offering almost 50 percent off on room rates which is good until September 30 this year.
“Convene at the Peak” for conventions and seminar to experience a posh accommodations and superior conference facilities in one complete package, Mualbecker said.
Jeff Ng of Hotel Supreme, one of the most popular hotels in the Baguio, is offering a two plus one promo with free breakfast. A client can stay for two nights and the third night lodging is free.
Molintas also said that another event that tourists should take advantage of is the Hotel and Restaurant Tourism (HRT) Weekend 2012 scheduled on the last week of August and will feature the largest wedding cake among other events.
The mountain resort city is expected to gradually peak its tourism arrivals in the month of October as the busy holiday season nears and with several activities lined up. (Joseph B. Zambrano-PIA CAR)
