The best waterfall of Dumalneg town popularly known as the “Darna Falls” offers cool and refreshing air bringing comfort to hikers, tourists, and visitors.
The falls with a breathtaking beauty is composed of a pool with a clear bluish water below and is soothing to the eye.
This unspoiled destination is another breath of fresh air to the tourists planning to visit Ilocos Norte, the fastest booming province in terms of economy and tourism in the Ilocos Region.
Mayor Lairvee G. Espiritu said they are currently developing the construction of the road going to Darna Falls to further improve transportation for tourists’ attractions.
“It is the best place to spend a very relaxing and pleasurable leisure time,” said the mayor.
Darna falls is one of the suggested itineraries in Dumalneg’s attractions other than the Bolo River.

The unique beauty of Darna Falls is located in the north-eastern part of San Isidro village in Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte along its mountainous hills.
The falls is a veil-like water cascading down through boulders and stones.
The stunning falls is also a plant sanctuary surrounded with wild ferns, “bilagot,” and a variety of air plants. The water flows down on every step until it drops to the pool.
Its cool and clear water is absolutely perfect for those visitors wanting to have fun and frolic on fresh water.
“There is something so naturally enchanting about this place, so anyone would be willing to return. Anyone would take advantage of their time going here and let their eyes feast on the nature surrounding,” said Judy Ann Suniga, local resident here.
Dumalneg is 73 kilometers far from Laoag City and is bounded by the municipalities of Vintar, Bangui, Pagudpud, and Adams.
This 5th class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte has a population of about 2,947 people and was composed of only a single barangay of the same name.
