Flag carrier Philippine Airlines is heeding the call for connectivity between Osaka and Taipei by launching flights which will link the two Asian cities.
“PAL is all set to establish the sought after Osaka – Taipei air link on June 25. This will enable the Japanese market to travel to Taiwan with ease, comfort and convenience”, PAL President Jaime Bautista stressed.
The airline will operate a daily service between the 2 cities. PR896 will depart Taipei at 10:10AM every Wednesday and Saturday and at 10:20AM every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Arrival in Osaka will be at 1:55PM on Wednesday and Saturday and at 2:05PM on other days of the week. PR897 will leave Osaka at 4:40PM daily and arrive in Taipei at 7:10PM.
PAL's modern 199-seater Airbus A321 aircraft will be the fleet for the route. The new Osaka – Taipei route will allow Japanese travelers to experience the PAL brand of inflight service marked by heartfelt warmth and hospitality.
Passengers may even journey on to Manila after a few days’ stay in the Taiwanese City via PAL’s Taipei – Manila service and connect to any of the domestic and international destinations PAL flies to.
On the other hand, leisure travelers from Taipei may take advantage of this direct flight to Japan and travel on to Manila or Cebu.
PAL has 10 weekly frequencies between Taipei and Manila and 14 frequencies between Osaka and Manila.
“Our Manila – Taipei – Osaka service provides the convenience of a 3-city route. These triangulated flights provide ease of connections and access to 'beyond-traffic'. Your flag carrier aims to please as we strive to make passengers experience service that reflects the heart of the Filipino,” Bautista explained.
Now on its 75th year, the flag carrier flies to 43 international and 30 domestic destinations and is in the midst of expansion of its network, modernization of its fleet and enhancement of its passenger services as it aims to reach 5-star rating in 5 years. The new service (Osaka – Taipei) slated to commence next month is made possible through 5th freedom rights held by the Philippines
